Background

I'm Jamie Toyama, a brand and UI designer with over 20 years of experience. Across my career, I've worked with clients from all kinds of industries — from trades and charities to corporate and creative businesses. This diverse background has shaped my adaptable mindset and sharpened my design approach, helping me deliver thoughtful, impactful solutions for my clients.

While my specialty lies in digital design, I thrive on cracking tough design challenges and finding intuitive solutions that make sense for both the business and its audience. Whether it's crafting a memorable brand, building user-friendly websites, or designing digital products, my goal is always to create work that leaves a lasting impression.

My love for design started early, leading me to graduate from university in the early 2000s before kicking off my career as a Graphic Designer at an advertising agency in Melbourne. Those early years were spent honing my skills in print design, particularly in corporate and retail sectors.

After that, I spent around five years living, working, and exploring the UK, including a rewarding stint at Transport for London (TfL). There, I contributed to some iconic projects, including work for London Overground, the Oyster Card, and London Buses — projects that deepened my appreciation for user-centred design and the role design plays in everyday experiences.

More recently, my focus has shifted toward digital and product design, where I bring my broad skill set and collaborative approach to every project. Whether I’m shaping brand identities, creating websites, developing marketing campaigns, or designing merchandise, I always strive to create meaningful and memorable experiences that reflect the unique values of each business.
